We’ve just launched Alert Sync 1.5 and it’s even more functionally fantastic than before!

So, what shiny new functionality have we added for you to enjoy?

As well as all the great stuff Alert Sync did before, you can now benefit from even more features:

Wait Rules allow an incoming SCOM alert to be held for a specified period of time; before being evaluated against Incident Creation rules. This is really useful for those incidences when a SCOM alert might open and close itself in quick succession (like a CPU usage threshold monitor).

Exactly, why raise an incident for a SCOM alert that closes before you even had time to action it? You just don’t need that kind of noise!

And you can now use Wait Rules with Incident Creation rules as we also have….

More Alert Data in Event Management because we did not push the “context” and “site ID” fields from SCOM alerts to ServiceNow.

So, why’s this useful? Well, "Context" gives you technical info to troubleshoot SCOM alerts and resolve them more quickly. And, "Site ID" is useful for MSPs (Managed Service Providers) who are monitoring multiple customers IT systems. This means you can now tell which alerts come from which customers!

SCOM Alert Clean-Up will not only improve the performance of ServiceNow, but using this new function will allow you to configure how many days’ worth of SCOM alerts you want to keep.

Eager to get setup, not a problem! We now have a ‘Quick Start Guide’ built into the ServiceNow Store App. This means you can get going quickly and easily, as the setup is now baked into the product itself – it couldn’t be easier!
